Dry spell

Its been a while since my last blog. But this does not mean I have stopped being package free! I started this pledge as a 40 day challenge for lent, which finished on the 29th of March 2018. But I kind of knew that this would be the start of something big in my life. Though it is a difficult process I am of course going to continue with the pledge to the best of my ability.

I feel I have had high expectations of myself to change the habits of the people around me. . Unsure of how to communicate the seriousness of the topic, I have found that just discussing what I am doing and why has an impact in some way.

Though I would like the idea to be more widely recognized. Imagine if everyone tried to be package free for just 40 days of the year, it would massively aid our environmental foot print on our planet.

I really believe in this pledge and will continue with my efforts to be package free as much as possible. I will continue to share my experiences, good and bad on this blog and include more tricks and tips for anyone who wishes to give it a go!

Below is an image of the package free dried goods you can purchase from The New Leaf Co Op in Edinburgh. Here I have:

Black spotted lentils, soy corn, dhal, oats, organic dark chocolate, flaxseed, refilled organic apple cider vinegar, some delicious bread, avocados and a big head of broccoli which you cant really see in this image.

I haven't shared my eating habits from before the pledge but the quality of the food which I now put in my body has certainly improved.

Don't get me wrong, I am still having a cheeky pastry from the self-serve section in the supermarket.
