Happy Anniversary!

The first day of the Package Free Pledge started on Valentines day last year, However, today is the official first day of lent for 2019. So I will declare this as the one year Anniversary of Package Free Pledge!

This time last year I was fully on my journey of being package free. And this experience really opened my mind to other possibilities against plastic. I felt empowered from the journey, taking action in making better decisions for myself and for the community. Shopping locally and investing my time and money into a cause I really care about. Our planet. Our home.

So as today is the first day of another 40 days . . I find myself in a challenging position. I am currently moving around a lot on a remote volcanic Island . . . Water is scarce.

It hasn’t been possible to be package free but as lent has begun I feel more determined to try.

So a whole new journey will start from today.

PACKAGE FREE ON THE ISLAND!

I will record my successes and challenges in the day to day situations. Remembering to REFUSE the straw and any unnecessary plastics. Taking my container, water bottle and reusable bag everywhere I go.
